Do the Ends Justify the Means?

I was going to write a long and detailed rant about the Bush administration’s attempts to defend and justify their policy of what they euphemistically call “enhanced interrogation techniques,” what the rest of us—that is, those of us who aren’t demented little right-wing whackadoos—know as torture. But the poet T. S. Eliot said it far better than I ever could and needed only fourteen words to do it.☺
