For those of you who were curious about the background I used for photographs of my Ravelympics socks, it is A Cat’s Day Shawl by Hazel Carter.
A Cat’s Day is the first Shetland-type shawl I ever made. It is much easier to make than it looks.
Here is a close-up of one of the corners. Instead of turning the corner by attaching the knitted-on edging to the body on every other return row, this edging uses short rows to give the extra fullness needed for the corners.
Nice, eh?
