Snow Job

Dear reader, I’m sure you are aware of the fact that the eastern part of the United States was hit with back-to-back blizzards, and my little house was smack in the middle of it all.

The first storm that came through last Friday and Saturday dumped about two feet of snow on us, and the second storm, which hit Tuesday and Wednesday, gifted us with an addition foot or so. That’s a LOT of snow.

Our mailbox was nearly snowed under, but managed to keep its head above water, so to speak.

Our township’s crack staff of snow plow drivers did its usual excellent job of clearing the streets, and my exceedingly skilled DH handled the snow thrower expertly, so we are not snowed in. Nor did we lose power, so all is well here.

I’ve been busily working on my Foxes sweater and am proud to report it is nearly finished. The sleeves, sans cuffs, are completed and sewn in place, and the neckband is nearly done.

And none too soon because the Ravelympics kicks off tomorrow with the opening ceremonies of the Vancouver Winter Games. I’m entered in Sock Hockey representing Team West Virginia.

(For you fellow Ravelers who may be interested in following my Ravelympics progress, my Ravelry ID is pinkoknitter.)

I can hardly wait to cast on. Let the games begin!
